TIPS OF THE
MONTH |
 |
QUICK
WAY TO GET COOL - We
all know that when the outdoor temperture
reaches 80 degrees+, the temperture
inside your Porsche® can
reach well over 110 degrees! Getting
into a hot car (and I mean temperature)
there is a quicker way to cool down
before having to endure the unbearable
heat. By rolling down your windows
and having your A/C on, cools the inside
of your car alot quicker by releasing
the trapped heat. -- Mike

Boxster®/996® Fast
Tip - Close
all windows and raise the convertable
top ALL AT ONCE by one turn of the
key! With the key in the door
lock, hold it into "lock" position
for a certain amount of seconds and
it will raise all windows and the top
for a complete lockup! -- Mike

Sticky
Brakes - Normally brake
dust accumulates on wheels. If there
were considerably more brake dust on
one wheel compared to the others, you
would feel the wheel somewhat sticking.
Causes of sticky brakes can be from
rusty or corroded caliper pistons,
and/or old or faulty brake hoses.
Some symptoms of brake stick are: Pulling to one side under braking.
Also as you roll to a stop, it is not a smooth rolling stop but a
sticky-like stop. You can double check if you have sticky brakes
by jacking the car up and spinning the wheels, or by pushing the
car on level ground in neutral to see if it rolls smoothly and easily.
If you have sticky brakes, you can fix this problem by servicing
or replacing your calipers. -- Brian.
