"Mike,
Just had to take a minute and write to thank you and the PowerTech team
on the fantastic job they performed on my '84 930 Turbo.
It's like a whole different animal,
and I mean animal. Step on the accelerator and
the power is smooth and unremitting.
I've always been passionate about my
Porsche, however even with various performance
upgrades (turbo, intercooler, exhaust, etc.,
performed by another Porsche shop), I haven't
been thrilled with it's performance...until now.
The car is truly enhanced, it has never, never, never run so well. You
guys really know the 9-3-0. Anyway thanks again and I look forward to future
projects with PowerTech.
~Sincerely,
Bob Kaverick"

TIPS OF THE
MONTH |
 |
DEAD
BATTERIES -
Many Porsche’s
have a feature that allows you to put
the windows up or down after you have
turned the engine off. This keeps the
window relay circuit live until a door
is opened. If the key is turned on and
then off, and a door is not opened; [such
as in a car parked in your garage where
you reached in through the window to
operate the key]; there will be a drain
on the battery and it will go dead, possibly
overnight, even if the key is removed.
The door must be opened to shut off the
circuit. A corroded or non-functioning
door switch will have the same effect,
as the car will never receive a signal
that the door has been opened. A sticking
window relay will also cause this. – Mike

Third Brake Light Wiring Repair -
The wires break for the
third brake light and are difficult to
repair because they are part of the rear
glass window. -- Brian.

Too
Much Brake Dust? -
If the piston(s) stick
in a brake caliper, it causes the pad
to drag against the rotor and prematurely
wear it out. Symptoms can be excessive
brake dust on one wheel, or the car doesn't
roll easily, or the rotor will be visibly
worn. The fix is to rebuild or replace
the caliper. |
