TIPS OF THE

964
battery dead scews up idle -
If your battery goes very
low or dead in a (1990-94) 964 your computer
looses some of the idle control motor settings.
These control the smoothness of the idle
and low end throttle response. In order
to reset these settings you must perform
a system adaptation which can be done here
at Powertech. – Brian

An
Oil leak seen only when the engine
is cold? -
944/968 Upper and lower
balance shaft housing end plugs. These
are sealed by an o-ring which hardens with
age and heat, causing a leak. The leak
will often be there only when the engine
is cold. As the engine warms up, the seal
or o-ring, softens up again, sealing up
the leak. So the car must be watched for
leaks before it's warmed up as well as
when it is hot. -- Mike
