POWERTECH WORKSHOP
REVIEW
"How To Winterize Your
Porsche & How To Purchase A Preowned Porsche Workshop"
October
15th @ Powertech |
The Workshop on October 15 at PowerTech was attending by approximately 40 Porsche
enthusiasts. What a great event!
Mike Daino started off the session talking about the History of the Porsche
Automobile, the difference between German cars and their American counterparts.
Mike covered many aspects of buying a pre-owned Porsche, things to look for
and what to stay away from. He covered all the different years and models
emphasizing what were the strong points and weak points on some of the Models.
During his presentation he gave a guided tour of the 3 cars that Powertech
had currently on their lifts, and spoke of the importance of regular maintenance.
The more service history you have on the car you are looking to buy the better
decision you can make.
During the Winter Storage portion of the presentation, Mike spoke about
putting the car away clean and with fresh fluids, including the different
types of covers for indoor and outdoor storage. He also made a point about
making sure the tires were inflated to the correct pressure to prevent possible
flat spotting of the tires. This may happen when the car sits for long periods
of time unused. The use of a Battery Tender and not a Battery Charger was
discussed as some people had questions about the differences between the
two. Mike spoke on how to hook them up and the amount of time they should
remain plugged in. If you were unable to attend this event, make sure you’re
there next year!
