What are the most important functions that are optimized
at the Chiptuning process? |

Ignition control -
To use the fuel in a effective way, it's important, to calculate
all the time the best possible timing in relation to the
RPM, load, temperature and other control signals. At diesel
engines - the optimal injection pressure.
Injection control -
In Relation of the available amount of Air, RPM, load and other
correction factor, the electronic calculates the needed injection
time and amount. This ensures the reduction of fuel consumption,
a reduction of emission, and a gain in the engine power.
Charge pressure control -
At Turbocharged engines, additionally the charge pressure is
calculated to raise the benefit of the above explained settings. |

How
long will it take?
About an hour to an hour and a half. Yet Porsche chips need to be individually
tuned and take longer
to do (approx. 2 hours or more).
Can I wait for my car?
Yes you can. (But I wouldn't advise to wait if you are a Porsche® owner -- you
could be waiting 2 hours or more!)
In
which rev range does the car's performance increase?
With an UPsolute chip you will feel the power over the
entire rev range, but especially in the lower and middle
rev range.
Are you available on Saturdays?
Sorry, but there is no service on the weekends. Only the Parts and Accessories
showroom is open on Saturdays. (See >Contact< for
info and hours).
Is there a chance my ECU can get damaged?
Absolutely not. We guarantee the chip will be properly installed on the computer
and
fully functional.
** However, we do NOT guarantee your engine
will fail.
Will the lifetime of my engine will be affected in a bad way
after the optimization?
The simple answer is: No!
The power reserves of the engine are so large, that you don't have to expect
more engine wear. We optimize the settings of the engine without exceeding the
limits of the reliability. If the car is driven normally there are no decreases
of the lifetime!
Will the chip turn on
my check engine light?
No it will not. **Please note: The installed Upsolute chip will NOT fix previous
existing problems.
Can I install
the chip myself?
No. It requires special sodering and reprogramming equipment.
Can I bring in my ECU or can I mail it to you?
Certainly you can do either of the two!
Do I have to change the fuel I use in my car?
No.
Can I have other parts installed while getting
a chiptune?
Since we are a Porsche specialty shop, the answer is Yes to Porsche's®.
But for
all other vehicles, the answer is No.
Do I need a stronger suspension or brakes?
No, you don't need an other suspension or brakes after the optimization.
Is ECU-Tuning detectable during the inspection?
No. Your car dealer can not determine a software modification with his equipment
(diagnostic port), since the stock program is used to develop the upgrade, all
engine characteristics are original.
Will the engine operate at higher temperatures after the optimization?
The temperature can rise a very small amount (racing conditions). In average,
this is between 5-8 degrees. |
